Understanding HDTV so smart. so easy.

What does resolution mean?

Basically, the images you see on TV are made with points of light, or pixels. The more pixels there are, the better the images look because there are more dots available to create detail. HDTV combined with high-def programming can use a million or more pixels. This high-resolution is what makes the picture
jump off the screen.
What are the resolutions and what should I look for?
Look for the number of lines of resolution. More lines = more pixels = fewer gaps = clearer picture.

HDTV resolutions are: 480 (852x480 pixels), 720 (1,280x720 pixels), and 1080 (1,920x1,080 pixels).
