I was looking for an "extra" phone to be used as a house phone. This is okay for that, but there are so many things I do not like. LOTS of ads. Set up was not great. I would give it 1 star, but my son loved the ear buds. Said the sound was good and stay in the ear. Do not like the buttons. Thank goodness I am not using as an everyday phone.

Wouldn't make or receive calls, (Loveblue169 CA)10/16/2024
I ordered this phone to replace my LG phone. I chose this Samsung mostly for the price, but after several days and calls to Tracphon I was unable to make or receive calls. The first guy I spoke to didn't even attempt to solve the problem and told me to just send it back, and the second guy was rude and hung up on me. I finally sent a chat message and was helped by someone named Marness, they helped me reset the Samsung phone to return it, reactivate my old LG phone and purchase more minutes.

Lives on the charger, (RubyRocker MO)09/14/2024
This phone literally lives on the charger. I bought it for my tween daughter that likes to talk to friends, but she's still mostly using her old phone and video chats because this one is always dead or near dead. She'll charge it all day to have the battery life go from 100% to 0 in 30min. She was trying to show me something and the screen was dark so I tried turning up the brightness and she yelled NO! That'll make it die even faster. I don't know if I got a faulty one but I want to return.

TRACFONE FAIL! DOESN'T SUPPORT MOBILE HOTSPOT!, (Janee793 NY)07/26/2024
I actually don't have any huge problems with this phone for what it's worth. I just needed a spare as a backup and intend to get it unlocked after 12 mos. What I do have a problem with is that although there is a Mobile Hotspot icon on the phone when you try to connect, you'll get this message: "Your plan doesn't support mobile tethering." Really??That's a HUGE limitation. HSN hypes these plans as low cost alternatives to contracts but in reality it's not--at least until it gets unlocked.

MMS type messages doesn't work, (MrZee NH)01/14/2024
Very nice phone but I am not able to download text messages that contain attachments (MMS). If someone sends me a text with a picture it says to Tap to Download. It starts downloading then goes back to Tap to Download. Clearly an MMS problem because basic text messages (SMS) work fine. Every time I hit download it eats up Data. Others reported same problem.

Buyer be cautious, (Gwimmer TX)01/02/2024
I purchased this phone and intended on keeping my same phone number as the on air host said was no problem. It took me 8 phone calls, 5 chat conversations and 2 times to the website over 3 days to get Tracfone to activate my phone and port over the number from Verizon. It all gave me a headache. Phone is very nice now that it is activated but be aware that may take sometime and a lot of your time working it out with Tracfone

After two months use, the in-call phone speaker stopped working! Tracfone wants me to ship this phone to them, they will transfer data, and then ship the exchange phone to me. That is unacceptable! Buyer beware.

NO Activation cards with 2 PHONES NOT HAPPY , (PjMahoney PA)12/13/2023
I ordered 2 phones and didnt receive any activation cards and NOW Im waiting for them to come. The FIRST PERSON I SPOKE TO SAID THEY AUTOMATICALLY PREFILLED. Thats totally WRONG. So I had to call for a 2 time and that I spoke to was very nice and polite and helpful. BUT THE FIRST PERSON I SPOKE TO WAS QUICK to get me off the phone. The cards shouldve been sent by FedEx. Since it wasnt my fault. Maybe Ill think about paying my bill. I never had any problem with HSN. But this is unbelievable

Tried to activate phone myself. No. luck called customer service for help. No luck with activating this phone. Will be returning for another same phone. Customer service gets a 5 star rating.

Will not make calls, (DLee355 NJ)10/11/2023
I have this identical phone and it works fine; bought same for my other child and activated it four days ago, but havent been able to make calls or texts. After approx 8 hours on multiple calls, tracfone cannot resolve the issue. They said this phone takes longer to register. They even got in touch with the carrier and ran a ton of updates. Very disappointed.

No spam text or call protection, (richman4 PA)09/28/2023
My tracfone Motorola phones always had a spam protection setting for texts and calls. This Samsung Galaxy A14 does not have a setting to filter spam texts or calls. Tracfone customer service recommended that download an app for filtering spam called Hiya. Problem with that is, it's not a free service. Not happy at all. I get way to many spam calls and texts. May be sending phone back. I can always activate my old moto G phone that has spam protection.

This is one on its way back. I am returning it when watching it on TV. I was going to buy this as a gift for my brother but its very confusing. They say you get a year worth of data but you dont you have to refill the card got it in and way too much information to go over and transfer. I am in the process of already returning it back.

Free Data NOT Honored!, (BestGSDmom NY)09/04/2023
After 3 aggravating days of trying to transfer my old Tracfon number to unlock my new phone and have my Data rolled over onto new service plan, I finally got a person on the phone to help. They finally unlocked the new phone and rolled service plan, text, and minutes over but NOT the DATA which is supposed to be included in this bundle. The data is the most expensive to purchase! Where's my DATA HSN & Tracfon?! Rip off!
